I am getting so many spammers on this blog… I would just like to say to you, try harder, not a single one of your comments has gotten through so far! The Akismet banner over on the right says how many got through to the second line of defence…
If your not a spammer and you are really commenting for reasons other than spam, don’t use vulgar names, and please try to talk in proper English!
So, from now on, you must be smarter than a rock to post on this blog, I am assuming you are since you can read, so there shouldn’t be much trouble. Spam bots are really dumb and most will be fooled.
It just asks you to copy a word… Really easy..
I was just looking through the stats and you guys have been taking heaps of time to load this page! I can understand 10 seconds for non-US viewers (No I’m Aussie), but 40 seconds to 5 minutes is absolute BS!
So.. I’m going to make a cache system for this blog! It will convert everything to html, and update it only what’s changed, ie comments, edits, new posts etc… Instead of fetching the info from the database, sticking it into a php, then converting it to html to give you you…
Should be faster, and I mean SHOULD…
So far I have got the front page down from 288 seconds to 15 seconds… The feed now loads instantly…
Also, a normal post with a 1 700×300 thumbnail picture with about 200 words, takes less than 10 seconds to load!
It will be even slower the first time stuff is seen, cause that’s how I write my php.

I love Star Trek, not so much the old original series, the newer stuff… Deep Space Nine, The Next Generation and Voyager.. Love em.. I havn’t seen any of Enterprise though..
A friend gave me 50 old fashion videos of DS9.. That was the first time I saw DS9, and they were great… A lot of ‘em were actually funnier than the average The Simpsons..
So I decided that during the next few years, I would do a little more and save up money to get all the Deep Space Nine, The Next Generation and Voyager episodes on DVD…
Anyway.. It’s Feburary and I have already got the $200 I need to get the collectors edition of DS9!! An ebay seller that lives about 12k’s away is selling it for $200! Go cashbusters_au!

I’m not one of those nerds who lives to watch it, who knows Klingon and goes to all of those conventions.. I am one of those guys who likes collecting things, and one of those things just happens to be Star Trek!
If you think that watching Star Trek is nerdy then you must also think that Fry from Futurama, and the creator of the Simpsons and Futurama, Matt Groening, and David X. Cohen is nerdy.. So think twice when you call people nerds for liking a TV universe that has shaped our own…
